Dark Circles
Dark Circles
Dark circles under the eyes are a common reason for visiting a cosmetic clinic or looking at skincare products that can improve their appearance.
Dark circles can be a frustrating skin condition that many face but does not specially mean that there is an underlying condition. Dark circles are often caused by the ageing process but can also be put down to stress levels, oversleeping or sleep deprivation, smoking and fatigue. We recommend eye treatments or creams that formulate with caffeine for drainage, vitamin E for vital moisture and soothing properties. Lymphatic massage can also promote a better breakdown of fluid that is retained in the under eye.
At home remedies to help with dark circles
Eye Creams
Look out for eye creams that will hydrate and plump the area around the eye, with ingredients like hyaluronic acid, vitamin K and peptides.
Cold Compress
This may reduce any swelling and shrink dilated blood vessels to reduce the appearance of dark circles. A great way of introducing a cold compress is to use a gel eye mask that has been in the fridge.
Make-Up
Make-up can hide a variety of sins, and if you are concerned about your dark circles, makeup may be way to cover them up.
Stay Hydrated
Drink plenty of water to help maintain good hydration of the skin and body.
Plenty of Sleep
If you must, take this as an excuse to get some extra sleep!
